The cathedral is situated west of Hoàn Kiếm Lake and is also the headquarters of Archdiocese of Vietnam. The cathedral was inspired by the Neo-Gothic architecture style with its high walls and many windows. The walls are made of granite stone slabs. The windows are made of stained glass, which was produced in France before transported to Vietnam. The sanctuary is carved with trimmed wood and looks shiny. There is a statue of Virgin Mary on the left of the nave. It has become an ideal place for wedding photos shooting.
