The throne of Nudism
Cap D'Agde was formed since the year 1970. Before that, a portion of land adjacent to the beach is owned by the family of Oltra, who farmed the olive groves behind the sand dunes adjoining the beach. After seeing more and more people, coming for a nude bathing on her land, the Oltra brothers began to formalise arrangements, leading to the creation of the Oltra Club. Since then, the town became the most favorite destination for those swingers, nudists and naturists.
When some of the tourists began to build their houses and settle in Cap D'Agde, lives in this small town have been turning a new page. Also, the post office here has become the first naked post office in the world.

Visitors to the Cap d’Adge is required to pay €8 at the gate, put their clothes in a locker and get buck naked.
Although Cap D'Agde is not the only nude beach village in the world, it is the only one that allows visitors to experiencing a fully naked environment. The nudist area of Le Cap d'Agde can be considered as a small village. It contains different supermarkets, several bakeries, a pharmacy, a small fitness centre, several ATM's, a lot of restaurants, bars and terraces ... Collin Lee Erickson, Canadians - a tourist in Cap D'Agde said, "It was my first-ever trip outside North America”, Collin added, “and the most liberating experience I have ever had.”
