Coming to Co To Island from Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam:
There are buses from Hanoi - the capital of Vietnam- to Cam Pha City, Quang Ninh Province at bus stations My Dinh and Luong Yen (Hanoi). The fee is about 200,000 VND/route (9.17 USD) and it takes about 4 hours to get to the destination.
There are buses from the bus station of Cam Pha City to Cai Rong Port (Van Don District, Quang Ninh Province). There are two types of boat coming to Co To Island from here:
- High-speed ship: departing at 13:00 on all weekdays, getting to Co To after about 90 minutes.
Ticket price: from 135,000 to 180,000 VND/route/passenger (about 6.19 USD to 8.25 USD)
- Wooden boat: departing daily at 6:30 from the Port to the Island and at 13:00 from the Island to the Port when getting enough passengers, getting to Co To after about 150 minutes.
Ticket price: 95,000 VND/route/passenger (4.35 USD)

This is also an ideal place to do a barbecue, to go picnic or to sleep overnight by the sea and welcome the dawn of next morning.
